On July 19th, MTG owner Michael Martin, along with Chris Miller, Bryson Hammond, and Allen Beard, attended the Oscar Cross Golf Scramble that benefitted the Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club of Paducah. The team had themselves a day and ended up taking home the title.
Michael says the Oscar Cross Golf Scramble is the Clubs biggest fundraiser each year. This year, there were 38 teams in attendance which roughly doubles the attendance from previous years. The money raised at the event goes to serve the organization in multiple ways. It provides lunch and other snacks to boys and girls which go to the Club. It gives kids the opportunity to attend after-school programs at the Club and even offers transportation from school. It also provides extended hours during the summer so youth have a place to hang out during the summer months.
“The Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club is a mentorship to the youth in Paducah. As the number of kids in need continues to rise, the Club needs our support now more than ever.”
– Michael
About Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club of Paducah
The Club has been an imperative organization for the youth in Paducah-McCracken County for over sixty years! Oscar M. Cross dedicated much of his time to keeping the area’s youth off the streets, out of the juvenile system, and giving them additional education not taught in the classroom.
As time rolls on, the Club continues to grow and the needs continue to change for the youth of Paducah-McCracken County, but the needs are no less important. The Club is committed to creating new solutions to the modern problems boys and girls are facing. The Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club has a strong group of leaders and counselors all lead by the executive director, Neal Clark.
